Montagny is an old of wine growers curled up on an amphitheater of vines. It is also the name of a great white wine which has received the AOC since 1936. |

The sublte wedding of the clay and the limestone from the soil and the microclimate of Montagny give the favorite « terroir » to the Chardonnay,
the unique grape variety of great white Burgundy wines. The appelation covers approximately 300 hectares of which a part in Premier Cru. |
White wine, Montagny opens the appetite: it is an apéritif of high distinction. It accompanies with happiness white meats (Poultry of Bresse, blanquette of veal) but also « quenelles », « foie gras » and any sorts of cold « terrines ». |

But it is for all which lives in the water that Montagny exists.
Seafood, fishes of oceans or rivers deserve a glass of this great wine served with.
And we tell that the pikes of the Saône fidget under the cane of the fisherman at the idea of being cooked in Montagny. Wines reach their peak after 2 - 5 years of ageing. |
